Though it may shock our civilized senses, pedophilia is sanctioned in the Quran. Muhammad himself engaged in this immoral practice while serving as a prophet of Allah. The Quran not only authorizes Muslim men to marry young children but also to engage in sexual intercourse with them. By confining this immoral sexual act within the context of marriage, Islam tries to give this God-forbidden practice an appearance of legitimacy. By authorizing sex with minors, Islam legitimizes pedophilia in its theology. In harmony with the teachings of Allah and in imitation of Muhammad, Muslims maintain this abomination till today. If you find this unbelievable, consider now the evidences.
The divine authorization of pedophilia is embodied in the Laws of Allah on Divorce. Muslim wives are commanded in the Quran to observe a waiting period after they are divorced by their husbands. The purpose of this waiting period is to determine if the divorced wife is pregnant or not. The Quran refers to this prescribed waiting period as “Iddah” or “Iddat.” However, if the wife is divorced before the marriage is consummated, then she does not have to observe the prescribed waiting period. Please read the following Quranic verse carefully:
Surah 33:49: O you who believe! When you marry believing women, and then divorce them before you have sexual intercourse with them, no Iddah (divorce prescribed period, see Surah 65:4) have you to count in respect of them. So give them a present, and set them free i.e. divorce, in a handsome manner. (Hilali-Khan)
It is vital to remember this exemption in the Quran. However, the waiting period is mandatory when sexual intercourse has occurred in the marriage between the husband and the wife. The Quran specifies the length of time that is required to be observed. It separates the divorced women into three different categories. Here is the prescribed iddah for the divorced women in each category:
Surah 65:4: In the case of those of your wives who have passed the age of menstruation, if you have any doubt, know that their waiting period is three months; and that will apply likewise to those who have not yet menstruated; the waiting period of those who are pregnant will be until they deliver their burden (give birth). (W. Khan)
In the First Category are the “wives who have passed the age of menstruation.” The waiting period for these older women is three months. In the Second Category are “those who have not yet menstruated.” These are prepubescent child wives who have not reached the age of menstruation. Their waiting period is also three months. Lastly are the women who are pregnant at the time of their divorce. Their waiting period is until they deliver the child. The following translation is even clearer concerning the age factor of “those who have not yet menstruated.”
Surah 65:4: And for those who have no courses (i.e. they are still immature) their ‘Iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise. (Hilali-Khan)
The waiting period for“those who have not yet menstruated is three months.” As stated earlier, the purpose of this waiting period is to determine if the divorced wife is pregnant or not. Since the divorced prepubescent child wives are also required to observe the prescribed waiting period, it substantiates the fact that Muslim men are authorized to engage in sexual intercourse with their child wives. Can you comprehend the full implication of this evil verse in the Quran?
Think! If these child wives have not even attained puberty at the time of their divorce, imagine how young they must have been at the time of their marriage. The important fact that we need to bear in mind is that not only does Islam permit Muslims to marry prepubescent girls but it also allows the husbands to engage in sexual intercourse with their child wives and divorce them if they so wishes. Surah 65:4 testifies to the undeniable truth that sex with minors is sanctioned in Islam.
Surah 33:49 proves that the waiting period is linked to the consummation of the marriage. No sex means no waiting period. Thus, when Surah 65:4 states that the waiting period for those who have not menstruated is three months, it actually presupposes that sex had already taken place in the marriage. By permitting men to engage in sexual intercourse with minors, Islam legitimizes an act that is judged as pedophilia by the rest of the civilized world. It is unthinkable, how Islam can get away with this amount of filth in it. How can decent Muslims not see this? We are talking about one of the most despicable acts that only the most depraved are capable of committing. Yet, it is an act that is not only sanctioned by Allah but also set as an example by his Prophet.
Islam legitimizes this evil practice by confining it within the framework of marriage. Do not be fooled by this! The only legitimacy this marriage grants is the license for a pedophile to rape his victim as often as he wishes in the security of his home. Whatever trace of guilt that the pedophile may have had will now be obliterated by the legality of this marriage in Islam. He can now commit this despicable act with an untroubled conscience. Islam protects the pedophile and grants him the divine right to carry out his depravity without fear of punishment. Islam is a pedophile’s paradise.
We will now consider the Tafsirs by the most respected Scholars of Islam. Only relevant parts from their Tafsirs will be quoted so as to focus on the subject that is central to our discussion. Regarding the authorization of Allah for Muslims to engage in sexual intercourse with their prepubescent child wives, well-known Muslim scholar, Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, stated the following.
Commentary on Surah 65:4, Tafhim al Quran, Volume 5, p. 620, note 13:
“Here, one should bear in mind the fact that according to the explanations given in the the question of the waiting period arises in respect of the women with whom marriage may have been consummated, for there is no waiting-period in case divorce is pronounced before the consummation of marriage. (Al-Ahzab: 49). Therefore, making mention of the waiting-period for girls who have not yet menstruated, clearly proves that it is not only permissible to give away the girl at this age but it is permissible for the husband to consummate marriage with her. Now, obviously no Muslim has the right to forbid a thing which the Quran has held as permissible.”
Therefore, not only does Islam authorize Muslim men to marry prepubescent girls but also to consummate the marriage. And Maududi adds: “No one has the right to forbid a thing that the Quran has held as permissible.” This is also confirmed by other great scholars of Islam.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir on Surah 65:4:
“The `Iddah of Those in Menopause and Those Who do not have Menses Allah the Exalted clarifies the waiting period of the woman in menopause. And that is the one whose menstruation has stopped due to her older age. Her `Iddah is three months instead of the three monthly cycles for those who menstruate, which is based upon the Ayah in (Surat) Al-Baqarah. (See 2:228) The same for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation. Their `Iddah is three months like those in menopause. This is the meaning of His saying.”
Tafsir Al-Jalalayn on Surah 65:4:
“And as for those of your women who no longer expect to menstruate, if you have any doubts, about their waiting period, their prescribed waiting period shall be three months, and also for those who have not yet menstruated, because of their young age, their period shall also be three months.”
Tafsir Ibn Abbas on Surah 65:4:
“And for such of your women as despair of menstruation because of old age, (if ye doubt) about their waiting period, their period of waiting shall be three months.” (Surah 65:4) Upon which another man asked: “O Messenger of Allah! “What about the waiting period of those who do not have menstruation because they are too young? . . . (The Messenger of Allah answered) ‘Their waiting period is three months.’” (Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs – Quran 65:4)
Ibn Abbas who is the cousin of Muhammad is one of the most knowledgeable scholars in Islam.
Tafsir Al-Tabari XIV:142
“The interpretation of the verse “And those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the ‘Iddah (prescribed period), if you have doubt (about their periods), is three months; and for those who have no courses (i.e. they are still immature) their ‘Iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise.” He said: The same applies to the ‘idaah for girls who do not menstruate because they are too young, if their husbands divorce them after consummating the marriage with them.”
All the above Muslim scholars are considered as heavyweights in Islam. Their Commentaries clearly prove that Muslim men are authorized to engage in sexual intercourse with their prepubescent child wives. Otherwise, the requirement to observe the waiting period will not be mandatory as the Quran itself testifies. Muslims, who deny the authorization of pedophilia in Islam, are either lying to us or they are totally ignorant of their religion. The Hadith also collaborates with the above Tafsirs.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 63:
Narrated Sahl bin Sad: The Prophet said . . . “And for those who have no courses (i.e. they are still immature). (Sura 65.4) And the ‘Iddat for the girl before puberty is three months in the above Verse.”
Because of this evil teaching of Allah in the Quran, the giving away children who are far too young for marriage is acceptable in Islam. Pedophilia is defined as:
“A sexual deviation of being sexually attracted primarily or exclusively to prepubescent children.”
A person who nurtures this form of attraction towards children is called a Pedophile. While pedophilia is illegal in most cultures and religions, it is authorized in the theology of Islam. Was Muhammad a Pedophile? We will let Islam answer this vital question.
THE PEDOPHILE PROPHET
Not only is sex with minors sanctioned in the Quran but Muhammad himself set the example when he married Aisha. Muhammad married Aisha when she was six-years-old and consummated the marriage when she was nine-years-old. He was fifty-four at that time.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:
Narrated By ‘Aisha: That the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).
Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3309:
‘Aisha reported: “Allah’s Messenger married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house at the age of nine.”
Hadith Sunan Abu Dawud, Volume 2, Number 2116:
“Aisha said, ‘The Apostle of Allah married me when I was seven years old.’ (The narrator Sulaiman said: “Or six years.”). “He had intercourse with me when I was 9 years old.”
Was Aisha a prepubescent child when Muhammad first had sexual intercourse with her? We will now consider the evidences from the most authentic sources of Islam.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151:
Narrated ‘Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah’s Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for ‘Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)
Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3311:
‘A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah’s Apostle (peace be upon him) married her when she was seven years old, and she was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.
Sunan Nas’ai (830-915 C.E.), Book of Marriage, Number 3256:
“A’ishah said: The Apostle of Allah peace be upon him married me when I was six and had intercourse with me when I was nine and I was playing with dolls.”
Sahih Muslim, Book 031, Number 5981:
Aisha reported that she used to play with dolls in the presence of Allah’s Messenger and when her playmates came to her they left (the house) because they felt shy of Allah’s Messenger whereas Allah’s Messenger sent them to her.
Let us now analyze the above Hadiths:
Muhammad married Aisha when she was six-years-old and he consummated the marriage when she was nine. (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64)
She was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her. (Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3311)
Aisha narrated: “The Apostle of Allah had intercourse with me when I was nine and I was playing with dolls.” (Sunan Nas’ai, Book of Marriage, Number 3256)
The playing with the dolls is forbidden, but it was allowed for ‘Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty. (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151)
All the evidences prove that Aisha was a prepubescent child when Muhammad first had sexual intercourse with her. Another great Islamic scholar, Al-Khattaabee confirms this fact:
“The only reason why permission in this (playing with dolls) was given to ‘Aa’isha is because she had not, at that time, reached the age of puberty.”
Muslims claim that Muhammad consummated the marriage with Aisha only after she had reached the age of puberty. But as verified by both the Quran and the Hadiths, this is a lie. The Quran clearly authorizes Muslim men to engage in sexual intercourse with their “child wives who have not yet menstruated.” (Surah 65:4) The records prove that Muhammad had sex with Aisha before she began her menses. The undeniable truth is that Muhammad was having sex with Aisha while she was still a child. The Quran sanctions this, Muhammad did this, Aisha verified this, the scholars of Islam affirm this and Islam’s children have to now deal with this.
This places Islam in a far darker position than most of us realize. Muhammad was a child molester. Therefore, supporting Muhammad means supporting the sexual exploitation of children. Since Muhammad’s example sets the standard in Islam, this has resulted in unspeakable suffering for millions of innocent children who are subjected to this barbaric practice. This is grossly wicked and should not be condoned. Muhammad established an appalling standard for Islam. The following are excerpts from an interview with Dr. Ahmad Al-Mu’bi, a Saudi marriage officiant:
“It is allowed to marry a girl at the age of one, if sex is postponed. The Prophet Muhammad, whose model we follow, married ‘Aisha when she was six and had sex with her when she was nine.’” (Source: Aired on LBC TV (Lebanon) – June 19, 2008)
Sheikh Hamoud Hashim, General Secretary of the Vice and Virtue Committee in Yemen:
“Because this happened to the Prophet, we cannot tell people that it is prohibited to marry at an early age.” (Source: BBC NEWS: Published on 6 November 2008)
Muhammad is responsible for legalizing pedophilia in the Islamic world. Muslims cannot condemn pedophilia as this would lead to the denouncement of the marriage of the founder of Islam. Sex with minors – with or without their consent – is decreed as Statutory Rape in the Penal Code of civilized nations. Since pedophilia in the guise of marriage is sanctioned in the Quran, the sexual exploitation of children is legal in strict Islamic countries.
A common argument that Muslims often use is that it was customary during the time of Muhammad to give away young children in marriage. Thus, they defend the pedophilia of Muhammad by claiming that he was only reflecting the customs of the pre-Islamic cultures of his time. Even if this is true, it only serves to prove that Muhammad was a false prophet. Why do we say that?
The purpose of a true prophet is to raise the moral standard of those to whom he is sent to. If Muhammad was truly sent by God, he would have acted differently. He would have denounced the evils of pedophilia and would have set a new standard of morality. However, since Muhammad was a false prophet, he submitted to the primitive customs of the pre-Islamic pagans. He was no different from the pagans of his time. By his very involvement in this pagan custom, Muhammad validated and perpetuated this evil practice in Islam. He legitimized pedophilia by his very participation in it. Because of his marriage to a young child, this evil sexual crime is sanctioned in many Islamic countries today.
All acts of Muhammad are considered as “Sunnah.” The term Sunnah, which refers to the words and deeds of Muhammad, defines the way how a Muslim should act. According to Islam, Muhammad’s example complements the commandments of Allah in the Quran. Thus, all his deeds and sayings serve as a model for Muslims to emulate. Allah commands Muslims to emulate the example of Muhammad:
Surah 3:32: Say: “Obey Allah and His Messenger.”
Surah 33:21: You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern of conduct for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day. (Yusuf Ali)
As stated, Muslims justify Muhammad’s marriage to a six-year-old by claiming that it was the norm in the pre-Islamic cultures of his time. If Muhammad adopted the customs of the pagans, then why are Muslims adopting his example? Why are Muslims adopting the pre-Islamic culture of marrying young children in imitation of Muhammad? Why are they following the example of a prophet who is incapable of breaking free from the primitive customs of the pagans? Is this not an admission by the Muslims that their Prophet was a victim of the pagan society he came from? By their own admission, Islam is nothing but an offshoot of paganism.
In truth, the pagans have a higher moral standard than Muhammad. For example, they were deeply troubled when Muhammad married the wife of his adopted son. The Arab pagans had the moral decency to view their adopted children as their own. Thus, according to their custom, Muhammad committed incest by marrying his daughter-in-law. Who do you think had a much higher moral standard?
Muslims cannot condemn pedophilia without condemning Muhammad’s involvement in it. And they cannot condemn pedophilia without condemning the teachings of Islam. If Muhammad is the perfect example for mankind then he is also the perfect example of a pedophile. Our Christian standards are far superior to that of Islam when it comes to protecting children. While Jesus loved children and spoke highly of their innocence, Muhammad made love to children and robbed them of their innocence.
Muslims must evaluate their religion honestly. Did the teachings of Islam shape Muhammad’s behavior or did Muhammad shape Islam into his image? In other words, is the Quran a reflection of Muhammad’s inner personality? As defined earlier, a pedophile is someone who is sexually attracted towards children. Did Muhammad have this weakness which he then projected into the teachings of the Quran? Is this the reason why sex with minors is sanctioned in the Quran? For this to be true there must be unmistakable evidences proving that Muhammad did manifest the characteristics of a pedophile in his personality. Let’s examine the evidences to ascertain if this is true. To begin, Aisha was not the only child that Muhammad had his eyes on. He had his eyes on two other infants.

“In the riwaya of Yunus Ibn Ishaq (it is) recorded that the apostle saw her (Ummu’lFadl) when she was a baby crawling before him and said, ‘If she grows up and I am still alive I will marry her.’ But he died before she grew up and Sufyan b. al-Aswad b. ‘Abdu’l-Asad al-Makhzumi married her and she bore him Rizq and Lubab . . .” (A Translation of Ishaq’s Sirat Rasul Allah by A. Guillaume)
[2] Musnad Ahmad, Hadith Number 25636:
Muhammad saw Umm Habib the daughter of Abbas while she was fatim (age of nursing) and he said, “If she grows up while I am still alive, I will marry her.” (Source: Hadith.Al-Islam.com)
Muslims should step out of the shoes of Islam and judge this man objectively. What kind of man would look at infants and crawling babies, and express his desire to marry them? What was on his mind when he spoke those words? Does not this prove that he was sexually attracted to the infants, the very moment he laid his eyes on them? Otherwise, why did he express his desire to marry them? We must understand what Muhammad meant when he said that he will wait for them to grow up. This means when they reach the age of six or even less.
Islamic records clearly prove that besides Aisha, Muhammad wanted to sexually molest other young victims as well. Fortunately, for Ummu’lFadl, Muhammad died before he could molest her sexually. And in the case of Umm Habib, Muhammad actually proposed to marry her. But fortunately it was discovered that she was his foster niece.
The History of Al-Tabari, Volume IX:140
“He proposed to Umm Habib bt. al-‘Abbas b. ‘Abd al-Muttalib, but discovered that al-‘Abbas was his foster-brother; Thuwaybah had nursed them both.”
Besides Aisha, we have on record where a man well over fifty had his eyes on two other infants with marriage in view. Is this not a serious problem for Muslims to reflect on? Can this man truly be a prophet of God? These are the only records of potential victims that are available to us. Only God knows how many other infants he lusted after. Muhammad’s affair with young Aisha serves as a window into the mentality of this man. He married her when she was six and sexually assaulted her when she was nine. The fact that he twice dreamed of Aisha when she was only just a baby exposes the pedophilia tendency of this man.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 15:
Narrated By ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle said (to me), “You have been shown to me twice in my dreams. A man was carrying you in a silken cloth and said to me, ‘This is your wife.’ I uncovered it; and behold, it was you. I said to myself, ‘If this dream is from Allah, He will cause it to come true.’”
If this not a sexual fantasy of a pedophile then what is it? Aisha was only a baby when Muhammad had this dream – twice. Note the craving in his words: “If this dream is from Allah, He will cause it to come true.” To even think of a baby in terms of a wife is utterly disgusting. The Bible states that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Let’s see what is in the heart of Muhammad.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 173:
Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah: The Prophet said, “If you enter (your town) at night (after coming from a journey), do not enter upon your family till the woman whose husband was absent from the house shaves her pubic hair and the woman with unkempt hair, combs her hair.”
Now, why would a man claiming to be a prophet of God give such an utterly disgusting commandment for a husband to wait until his wife shaves her pubic hair? Why should Muhammad instruct the husband to wait until the vagina of his wife resembles like that of a young child? Is this not a clue, an indication of Muhammad’s own inner desire for young prepubescent vaginas? We are forced to use such explicit language to expose the evils of this man. Pedophilia is one of the gifts of Islam to perverts like Muhammad.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 17:
Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah: When I got married, Allah’s Apostle said to me, “What type of lady have you married?” I replied, “I have married a matron.” He said, “Why, don’t you have a liking for the virgins and for fondling them?” Jabir also said: Allah’s Apostle said, “Why didn’t you marry a young girl so that you might play with her and she with you?”
Since pedophilia is legitimized as marriage in the Quran, pedophiles can now justify the raping of young children by first marrying their victims. Once he is through satisfying himself, he can move on to target other young victims. And this is easy since Islam empowers the pedophile with the authorization to divorce his young victims once he is through with them. To evoke the utter evil nature of this Quranic verse, let’s read it once again:
Surah 65:4: And those of your women who have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the Iddah, if you have doubts (about their periods) is three months, and for those who have no courses (i.e. they are still immature) their Iddah is three months likewise, except in case of death. (Hilali-Khan)
Sex with minors is judged as Criminal Pedophilia in the laws of civilized nations. However, this evil crime is sanctioned in Islam. Following the example of Muhammad, children are sexually molested by Muslim men who are old enough to be their fathers or even grandfathers. Children are not ready, either physically, emotionally or mentally to enter into a marriage relationship with adults. Pedophilia destroys the life of a child. If Allah is the true Creator, he would have known this. But he is not! Sex with minors is absolutely evil. To save our children, please share this article with others. Muslim children are safe when their parents leave Islam. Muhammad may have his weaknesses but Muslims have to still answer why Allah sanctioned pedophilia in the Quran.
We would like to conclude this article by quoting the words of Jesus Christ which reveal how precious are the safety and security of children in Christianity:
Matthew 18:6: “But whoever stumbles one of these little ones who have faith, it would be better for him to have hung around his neck a millstone and to be sunk in the open sea.”
