DUBAI: Massive inferno breaks out at the 86-floor residential “Torch Tower”

The aptly-named ‘TORCH TOWER’ near the Dubai Marina, which is one of the tallest (1142-feet) residential buildings in the world, was the site of another big fire in February 2015.

UK Express  Within minutes the fire had taken over one side of the 86-storey high building after breaking out near the top just before 1am local time. Dubai Media Office confirmed the building had been “successfully evacuated” but did not comment on whether there were any casualties.

The structure is the fifth tallest residential building in the world. The tower houses 676 apartments and six shops.
