God Has Forgiven You

A popular idea is that God is really mad at people and can hardly wait to punish them for their sins.
The truth is that God has already forgiven people. Now accepting His forgiveness is your responsibility.
1 JOHN 2:12 NKJ
12 I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.

God Forgives All Sin
PSALM 85:2 NKJ
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah

PSALM 103:3 NKJ
3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,

ACTS 13:38-39 NKJ
38 "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins;
39 "and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

ISAIAH 43:25 NKJ
25 "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.

HEBREWS 8:12 NKJ
12 "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more."

LUKE 7:48 NKJ
48 And He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

No matter what you have done -- God has already forgiven you!
Forgiving you was God's idea -- you do not have to convince Him. You must believe God forgave you and thank Him.

Jesus Forgave You
LUKE 23:34 NKJ
34 Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots.

Even as He was dying for your sins, from the cross, Jesus asked His Father God to forgive people -- and He did!

Sins Not Held Against You
2 CORINTHIANS 5:19 NKJ
19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:19 AMPLIFIED
19 It was God (personally present) in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them]; and committing to us the message of reconciliation -- of the restoration to favor.

The Good News is that Jesus Christ already paid the price for all your sins -- and God is no longer holding any sin against you! You have been forgiven. Now you must accept that to receive the benefit of Jesus' sacrifice.
ACTS 26:18 NKJ
18 `to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'

Redemption & Forgiveness
EPHESIANS 1:7 NKJ
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

COLOSSIANS 1:13-14 NKJ
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

COLOSSIANS 2:13-14 NKJ
13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,
14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Through Jesus we have redemption from the devil and forgiveness for sins.

God Forgave -- Now You Forgive
EPHESIANS 4:32 NKJ
32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.

COLOSSIANS 3:13 NKJ
13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

God not only forgave you, but gave you His life and love on the inside. So, He expects you to act like Him -- and forgive. God forgave you; now you must forgive yourself, and others -- even when they have done wrong.

As A Believer
When you sin as a believer, the promise of 1 John 1:9 is for you. By confessing your sin to God, you receive forgiveness and are freed from that sin.
1 JOHN 1:9 NKJ
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
